Natalie and I bought purchased our home seven years ago, and while we (of course) fully furnished it, we were struck by how few accents we used.
Southern Homes had built a house with such lovely lines that it was often its own decor, and we didn’t want to diminish it. For that reason, we have some walls which need no art, our built-ins require fewer accessories to be elegant, and the tall windows bathe the archways, furnishings, and floors with lovely natural light.
When the housing spike happened in 2022, we were tempted – for just a blink – to sell while the market was insanely high. But we simply couldn’t leave because this is home.
Finally, thankfully, the people at Southern Homes remain on our radar both as builders and friends. If we ever build again, they’ll be our first and only call. Remarkable people.
