Ralph Sandmeyer
Ralph Sandmeyer, owner of Southern Homes, is a native Tulsan with deep roots in the real estate industry. A proud graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in Business Administration, Ralph was immersed in the world of homebuilding from an early age. His mother, a realtor for over 40 years, and his stepfather, a builder and developer, inspired his passion for the industry. As a young man, Ralph gained hands-on experience doing everything from cleaning job sites and building homes to working in sales, learning the business from the ground up.
After college, Ralph worked in management for thirteen years with an electrical supply company, working in Oklahoma, Texas, and North Carolina. In 2008, he returned to Tulsa to reconnect with his passion for building homes, partnering with his stepfather. In July 2008, Ralph founded Southern Homes with a commitment to building the highest-quality homes in the Tulsa-metro area.
Southern Homes specializes in custom and semi-custom homes and offers premium amenities and finishes. Ralph’s attention to detail ensures that every Southern Homes project reflects beautifully designed craftsmanship, backed by unwavering customer service. Ralph stands by the quality of his work and wants every client to feel supported throughout the homebuilding process. He understands that building a home is often the largest investment of a lifetime, and he strives to make the experience as smooth and positive as possible.
Under Ralph’s leadership, Southern Homes has garnered numerous accolades, including multiple first place wins at Tulsa Parade of Homes and recognition by Oklahoma Magazine as one of the Best Home Builder’s in their annual Best of the Best in Oklahoma from 2020-2024. Ralph is also a board member of the Home Builders Association of Tulsa and has been a member since 2009.
Outside of work, Ralph enjoys time with his three children, two grandchildren, attending sporting events, boating, hunting, fishing, and travel.

Shannon Govier
Shannon Govier
Shannon Govier, Project Manager at Southern Homes, is a Tulsa native with a passion for design and homebuilding. A proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Shannon earned her degree in journalism and advertising, with a minor in art history. Her background in design, combined with a keen eye for detail, has become a hallmark of every Southern Homes project.
After college, Shannon and her husband, Tim, lived and worked in Oklahoma City before returning to Tulsa in 2006. In 2011, Shannon first crossed paths with Southern Homes when Ralph built her family home in Tulsa. In 2014, Shannon officially joined the Southern Homes team. Shannon plays an integral role in overseeing the entire building process, from working with subcontractors and vendors, fulfilling contracts, managing the selection process, selecting finishes for spec homes, and collaborating closely with clients to bring their vision to life.
Shannon thrives on seeing homes evolve, from pouring the slab and watching the first walls go up to selecting finishes and experiencing the craftsmanship in every detail. She is proud of the relationships she has built with clients and is dedicated to making the homebuilding experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Understanding the significant investment involved in building a home, Shannon is committed to guiding her clients through the many decisions they face with confidence and ease.
Her favorite part of the job is closing day, when she gets to hand over the keys and say, “Welcome Home” to her clients, knowing she’s played a part in creating something special for them.
Outside of work, Shannon and her husband Tim are busy raising three children. Most weekends are spent on the sidelines watching her boys play soccer and football. In addition, Shannon loves to travel and spend time with family and friends.
